Why the Sources Differ
Kentucky law makes many public records available, but no single database follows a case through every stage. Louisville Metro Department of Corrections maintains the county's current jail roster and intake records. Police and sheriff records units hold agency-created reports and images. Kentucky Court of Justice records show what happened after an arrest, while the Kentucky Department of Corrections publishes information for people sentenced to state custody or supervision. This site brings those official lookup steps, contacts, and request routes together without copying the records or displaying a photo gallery.
What the Guide Covers
Each section is organized by the office responsible for the record and the stage of custody it covers.
- The home page explains current arrests, LMDC's jail roster, booking-record requests, photo law, and correction or removal steps.
- Separate city guides trace arrests by Louisville Metro Police, Jeffersontown Police, and St. Matthews Police to the correct records office and LMDC custody search.
- Step-by-step directions distinguish the current county roster from Kentucky's KOOL search for sentenced state offenders.
- The Sheriff's Most Wanted guide covers official warrant checks, while the news guide connects reported arrests to court and jail records.
Limits of This Site
This is a privately operated reference site. It is not connected with LMDC, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, any Kentucky police department, the Kentucky Department of Corrections, or another government agency.
- We cannot release, detain, or transfer a person.
- We cannot post bond, arrange visits, or send money.
- We do not provide legal advice.
- We cannot promise that agency hours, fees, or contacts have not changed.
Only the responsible jail, law-enforcement office, or corrections department can confirm current custody, charges, and release. This guide points to those sources, but the official office supplies the answer.
Independent Search Partners
Some search boxes are operated by outside providers. Those companies control their own results and prices. If a visitor follows a tool and buys a subscription or other paid service, this site may receive a referral fee that helps keep the guides available. We do not set the provider's charges or control the information it returns.
