Jefferson County Sheriff's Office: 515 W. Market Street, Suite 110, Louisville, KY 40202-3388. Call 502-574-5400 locally or 800-280-6694 toll free. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Written open-records requests go to official custodian Lt. Col. Michael Littlefield at that address or to mlittlefield@jcsoky.org.
The right destination depends on whether the person is currently jailed, was arrested by a city police department, has moved into state custody, or has a court case. Use these routes:
- For a booking photo, recent arrest, or older booking record, use the complete search and records-request guide.
- For a current warrant or wanted notice, follow the safe official checks on Sheriff's Most Wanted.
- For someone who may have just entered jail, search LMDC's current roster from the home page.
- For release status or notification, check LMDC first and enroll through Kentucky VINE where appropriate.
- For a Louisville, Jeffersontown, or St. Matthews police report, contact the arresting department's records unit through the matching city guide.
- For a sentenced state offender, use the Kentucky Department of Corrections KOOL search.
- For federal custody or immigration detention, use the federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE detainee locator, not the county roster.
